Movies I need to see

So the movies I need to see before January 27:
Good Night and Good Luck, Capote, Transamerica, Match Point, Munich, King Kong (I have not seen any of the lord of the rings, so I have not seen a Peter Jackson movie), Crash, A History of Violence, Cinderella Man, The Constant Gardener, and The Squid and the Whale.

And even with all that, I will be missing movies in major categories. But I refuse to see the Producers.

I am going back to New York tomorrow, this will cost me 110 dollars.

My Plan.

I am always so excited about awards season and then they always end up being so boring because I have usually seen only like one or two of the movies. So this year I have decided to change all that, I am going to make it my goal to see every movie that may be nominated for a major award at any of the shows. Thus, when the Golden Globes and then the Oscars roll around, I will be able to judge for myself who should win. I could even have one of those should win/will win charts like they do in the NY Times. This might all end up being very anti-climatic, because regardless of how many movies you see, the Oscars are still very very boring. But a gal needs to have goals ot be fulfilled, right?

Also, don't anyone tell me that a nominated movie is not necessarily a very good movie, I understand that, this seeing all the movies thing is not an art thing, but a pop culture thing. Oscars are a grear barometer for a certain kind of pop culture.

So far I have seen Syrinia, Pride and Prejudice, Walk the Line, Brokeback Mountain. I loved all of them except for Brokeback which I thought was good, but just couldn't get into.

I heart lawyers

On General Hospital, we have Sam -- engaged to a mobster, whose only means of support is said mobster. and then there is Alexis -- a lawyer who is defending some guy who tried to murder Sam and the mobster like 16 times. Anyway, Sam keeps calling Alexis a bitch (I did not realize you could say bitch on network tv these days, someone should call the parents' television counsel) for defending him and Alexis keeps talking about how everyone deserves representation. But they are really making Sam look better. I think this is because there are very few lawyers at home watching GH in the middle of the day, but probably lots of people women supported completely by men, some of whom may be mobsters. SO um...fuck you gh. go lawyers.
